Changing Model Parents

Hello. I have recently found out that if you click on the "settings" button and go to the minecraft tab, you can find that there is a "Parent" tab. Currently, it is on "item/handheld", although, I would like my model to be on the body, is there any way I could accomplish this? If so, please let me know. Thank you!
