Exporting while still in Preview Mode exports a "bad model"

Whenever I try to export a model while still in Preview Mode (mostly because that's the last thing I do to a model, like a normal person), it turns out to give me a "bad model," or a model that breaks and only shows up as a big block that has a missing texture texture on all faces.

This is a bug
