This product does not work with MC 1.15.x

Post by visionarymind » 17 Jun 2020, 00:02

I have MC 1.15.2 and have exported a JSON model to my resource pack in 1.15.2. It is not visible within the game. Please let me know if you will offer a refund. Your advertisement also claims NBT structure model support, but it is not possible to export to NBT. Overall, the tool is not useful for modern versions of Minecraft.

Works fine in MC1.15.

How did you add the model to your resource pack? Posting a small resource pack with your model would be useful.

Actually, to clarify --- this is not a JSON model for a block or an item. It is a large collection of over 8,000 blocks imported originally from a schematic. I am trying to find a way to get large structures into Minecraft. Right now, I am stuck looking for Json > NBT converters (they don't seem to exist in a workable form) or somehow devising a way to load the large structures into the game without 32x32 NBT limitations. The JSON file itself is ~8mb. I can post it if you like, but I think what I really need is more guidance on how to import these JSON models as "structure blocks" or schematics. There appears to be a JsontoNbt class in Forge, but I haven't been able to get it to work.

I'd like to help you, but I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to do.

Please explain it step-by-step

I had a large Wavefront OBJ model (of a tall building) that I imported into Cubik studio, converted to voxels, and then generated block elements -- along with an atlas map in PNG format. I wish to place this model into my saved world at a specific location. I can do this with files of type .SCHEMATIC, but all of the schematic converters strip models of color and set the blocks to Stone. To put it simply -- is there a way to take these JSON models and add them to the world map? I was able to use your tool to create a custom block with my building, but when I place it, it is the size of a block (not 10 stories high).

So my goal, in theory, is rather simple. I have large JSON model that needs to be placed as terrain or structure in the Minecraft world. The wiki seems to indicate this is only possible if it is in .NBT or .SCHEMATIC format .... but it would be so much easier if I could write a custom Java wrapper or similar to take your nicely generated models and place them into a saved world at specific locations. This is why having it in NBT format (or having the ability to export to NBT) may be of interest to people trying to do what I am suggesting.

Right now, am looking into a Python script to read the JSON and then convert it to NBT, but it is not that straightforward.
