Clunky Controls and Rotating the Camera?

Post by Conflee » 12 Feb 2018, 00:35

Hello! I bought Cubik recently to try and make shield models for a pack im making, but im finding a lot of features made clunky or just missing from the older versions that were on Youtube. (to clarify: based on older videos on Youtube).

Mainly, the ability to rotate your view in the bottom right screen, and putting a texture as the background image.

Rotating the camera is missing entirely as far as I can tell, which is making modeling a bit of a tricky mess. But beyond that, which is manageable, whenever I try to set a texture as the background image, there aren't any options to change how the image displays, so unless its an extremely large image, it only makes up about an eleventh of the display, which is useless when your trying to make a model based on that (cant just 'trace' it).

Im wondering if maybe im just dumb and not noticing where this stuff is? Because at the moment the program is just giving me a headache, and seem to be way more complicated and clunky than it was even in the free trial that existed a few years back.

Please read this: tutorials-f4/list-of-commands-and-shortcuts-t38.html

Rotate camera on 3D view: Alt + Middle click or Ctrl + Space (without clicking)
