2 Unwrapping Problems

Post by CubeModel9000 » 03 Jan 2018, 19:21

Problem 1

In the 'Textures UV' tab I can't scale the UV to the pixels I desire with the right click because it does not fit to the scale of image I'm using. For example with a 64x64 or 128 x 128 texture sheet. I try to move a uv to a 1x1 area but it will only go 3 spaces along for example missing the mark I needed it to be within. This is the bigger problem at the moment because I would need to use another program to do the unwrapping within.

Problem 2

Using the UV snap to texture coordinates of all faces with real world coordinates makes the UV disappear within the tab, with only the circle symbol with the X still visible.

Have you tried to modify the grid for the UV editor?

Also, have you tried to zoom in?

Ah nice! Did not know that feature existed. I think you should copy the UV size option below the textures UV window since there is a lot of space and it's hard to find for people new to the program. Could always work as well if your testing it out so you don't have to keep changing it by going into the view options.

Some general further suggestions:

1): [Bug Fix] Perspective view - alt + mouse button 3 (scroll in) sometimes resets to your last camera view

2): [Bug Fix] Open recent when you already have a model open sometimes not working.

3): [Feature Fix] Option to expand grid size how much you wish, allowing you to build huge voxel models

4): [Feature] Pixel wireframe mode (allows you to see how big the element you are working on is visually/for example 4 pixels across and 10 up all grided by the wireframe)

5): [Feature] Element outline mode (Allows you to see where each element block you used ends)

6): [Feature Fix] Copying and pasting a element block pastes it within the same positioning allowing you to work faster, instead of having to move it in place a large distance each time depending on the original copy.

7): [Feature] Selecting a element or voxel model and pressing any arrow key rotates it around (This speeds up moddeling if you accidentally made a model or piece of one in the wrong direction)

8): [Feature] Selected element or model can be positioned easily along the workspace with W/S (Up/Down) A/D (Left/Right) Q/E (Forwards/Backward) If you keep one pressed down it goes faster

Ah and another one in relation to unwrapping. A potential feature in which you click and drag on your open unwrap and place it on another element. Easily skinning different parts quickly, Without even having to find them by name or what not within the list of elements. Simply visually.
