Issues exporting models into Cinema4D

Hi, so I'm trying to export a model from Cubik into C4D, but I'm running into an issue where the UV mapping is incorrect in C4D.

I export as a .obj and in Cubik the model consists of elements. This is what the model looks like in C4D:

As you can see, the texture is being applied diagonally for some reason (note that the texture is just regular oak planks).

The only information I can find is here help-centre-f3/how-to-port-a-voxel-mode ... -t517.html, where it's suggested to export in mesh form instead of element form, but because I'm importing from elsewhere, my model is made of elements to begin with.

Is there a way to convert elements back into a mesh? From the looks of it, it seems like a 1-way system, Mesh > Voxels > Elements and not the other way around.

Any help would be much appreciated!
