Animating the 3D Models and Scaling pixels

Post by Jimmythumbtack » 28 Mar 2017, 00:57

Hi,
I am really considering on buying Cubik Studio because I've bin looking for a simple way to make low poly models and add Pixel Art style textures directly to them.
This seems like the simplest software so far but as I understand it doesn't include any animation tools.

So here's my question: In the same vein as Cubik, what would be a simple way to animate those models ( for Games mostly )? Even if it is a simple JSON animator that can export standard animation files? And if there's no simple ways of animating them does Cubik help with the process of generating a skeleton? Keep in mind that I probably won't respect the structure of Minecraft characters, it is not to implement in minecraft.

Also, Is it possible to scale the pixel size of the textures ( from very Lo-fi to smooth Hi-fi ) ? And when editing a plane, do pixels reach the border of the plane or do they tend to get cut off?

And since I'm here asking questions, I've searched the forums about an Offline mode, but all I could get is that it has bin added to the to do list. Has this bin addressed? This isn't a complete deal breaker, but it could be useful.

Thank you very much!

You can check out this program here https://github.com/fizzy81/animated-models. Check youtube for some good tutorials on how it works. Not sure if that's exactly what your looking for.

I will look into it, I have a feeling I might have to use a more traditional way of animating though.
Any answers for the other issues I've raised?
