Creating a JSON model for Minecraft out of an OBJ file

Post by MrGarretto » 11 Feb 2017, 16:45

I have an OBJ model file and I want to use Cubik Studio to turn it into a model for a minecraft resource pack. When I import it, I try using the "Convert Mesh to Voxels" function but it ends up losing quality and doesn't even stay symmetrical

Before converting mesh to voxels:

(And I've tried it at a bunch of different resolutions but it always becomes deformed to some degree)

Next, I tried importing it as a QB file from Qubicle
Before attempting to convert the voxels to elements, it looks like this:

When I try the first method (1 element per voxel), I get this error

The second method makes the colors lose quality

And the last method makes it look like this for some reason

How can I simply get my models from Qubicle into minecraft models?

I found the solution to the problem - in this picture http://i.imgur.com/FOvHPdG.png it didn't actually mess with any of the colors; it just looked like that because Cubik gives a tint to each element so you can distinguish them from each other while editing the model
