3D Models on chest armour slot

Is there a way to make a 3d model appear on the chest? I want to make a wing model that isn't armour, but the problem is that /hat makes the model clip through the player model. Anyone know how to make 3d models appear on the chest or any plugins that can help with that?

Without Optifine, most servers are using Hat for wings...
