Inverted cuboids.

Hello,

I tend to make use of inverted cuboids a lot to give block items somesort of outline.
Currently I do this by going into the json of a model and switching the beginning and end coordinates of a cube,
so that the texture gets shown on the inside of it, instead of the outside.

Would it be possible to achieve this within the software itself, so I can preview it without having to open the game?

Is it still supported in latest versions of Minecraft?

Yes it is. I still regularly use this method on item models.

In what way do you use this? I'm curious, hope it might improve my modelling technique :)

If you make a box inside a smaller box, then reverse the start and end coordinates of the bigger box,
the texture of the bigger box will display on the inside, instead of the outside.
The smaller box will be visible inside the big box, thus an outline is created.

That's basically it. Works best for models that don't have inwards angles.

Here's an example I made with a cylindrical shape:

The idea was to make a potion with the outline serving as a glass container.
