Voxel Erosion/Melt Tool
Posted: 19 Nov 2016, 03:33
Tool type: Voxel
Tool name: Melt
Tool icon: I have no idea
Tool short description:
Melts voxels
Tool action on Left click:
It would melt away voxels, a group at a time (a PERFECT example of what I'm imagining is the Minecraft plugin Voxel Sniper's melt tool).
Tool action on Right click:
Undoes previous melting...? Not too sure here either.
I'm not too sure how challenging this would be, but I figured since working with voxels is probably like working with Minecraft blocks (in terms of physical representation), the effects could possibly be replicated. Here's an example:
Let's say I'm building a model of a mountain in Studio. I'd place a few voxel balls, getting smaller as you near the peak of the mountain. Now, to smooth it out and give it a proper mountain "look", currently, you'd just use one of the voxel brushes that make shapes and right click with it. With a melt tool, it would, quite literally, melt away voxels at a time. So you could melt all the voxel balls into one good looking mountain!
I hope this makes sense. It's kind of a weird tool to describe
