Hello, how do I put a texture under the model? And if possible can I make it so its not a specific texture but takes the one of the current block its sitting on?
Also is there a way to remove the shade on the top of the model? (image below)

Minecraft culls the faces of certain blocks. It's hard-coded depending on what you put on top.

If you want to make a model that doesn't fill the entire face like that you need to use a block that supports transparency, such as Stained Glass.
