Cubik Pro, Animaker, Pixy, and Split Workspace on Linux via Wine
Posted: 16 Feb 2018, 08:57
This is a thread to collect information so maybe Linux users can also use the available native Windows applications.
Everything has been tested using Wine 6.9 in May, 2021.
Cubik Pro
The UI is fine, but requires you to enable Advanced 3D Preview in Edit > Preferences > Views to be able to see textures in the viewer (possibly correct usage, I don't remember). Also constantly spikes usage on CPU cores.
Animaker
Can view and preview animations, but when trying to export no output is created.
Pixy
Appears to work correctly, but scrolling too fast in the File Explorer may cause a crash though. Also, constantly spikes usage on a CPU core.
Split Workspace
The UI is a bit messed up. Glyphs don't render, probably as they expect very specific glyphs in a font not normally found on the system. The window placement aspect of the program seems to work, if a bit buggy.
